day 85

Hello, would you like to join me for dinner? Tonight's dinner is especially yummy – an exceptional collection of leftovers: Grilled lamb chops, potato pumpkin mash, and palak paneer (okay it's not really paneer, but it was yummy anyway).

Nobody came so I cooked for one

This is probably the best part about living on my own in a place with a kitchen. I've only started to toss more Asian foods into the mix recently, and it's really fun. Last week I made peach and barley chicken curry. And I know you don't see it, but there's coconut milk in that mash. Yummy.

Please don't think I eat like this everyday though. Honestly. I only show you the foods that are really nice. And I can prove that because I'm still not fat yet.

So the weekend past was pretty interesting. There was a curious incident of a dog – in the day time. On Saturday, a dog that was apparently lost followed my landlord home!

Ready, turn

And smile!

We found out later her name was Roxy. Roxy was crazy about playing fetch. At first I thought it was because she was a friendly dog, but then later I realised she would go barking mad until whoever in front of her had tossed her a ball. And that was all she cared about. With a passion. This dog loved balls, not people.

So Sunday evening after church (which was good too) I tried googling for lost and found sites for pets, and bingo! It just happened that Roxy's owner had put up an ad for Roxy the same day.

That was quite fortunate. It turned out I saved my landlady a trip to the Garda (police), who would have brought Roxy to the pound. If Roxy's owner hadn't contacted the police or the pound within the following twenty four hours Roxy would have been put down. So I saved a doggie!

Also, it seems like the landlads (?) like me a little bit better since I found Roxy's owner. Their mom the landlady must have had something to do with that because she kept saying I had done a "good deed". All that's quite nice for just a little bit of googling. It's a happy weekend.
